Texas Hill Reservoir

Texas Hill Reservoir (Draft EIR)

General Plan Amendment to remove the existing Texas Hill Reservoir Take Line from the General Plan Land Use map and change the existing General Plan Land Use Designation of Open Space (OS) for 120 parcels within the mapped Texas Hill Reservoir

Review period: May 6, 2024 to June 4, 2024

120 affected parcels

53 parcels are privately owned (approximately 44%)

67 parcels (approximately 56%) are owned by the El Dorado Irrigation District (EID)

80 new single-family homes and 10 new accessory dwelling units (ADUs)

Traffic would dump onto Pleasant Valley Rd. And Cedar Ravine

Traffic and Water were not addressed in the Draft EIR

Questions:

  • Why are we changing the designation of all 120 parcels and not just the privately owned parcels?
  • How did they come up with 80 single-family homes and 10 ADUs when there are only 53 privately owned parcels? We need to understand the math they used for their calculations
  • Why didn’t they include a traffic study as part of this DEIR?
  • The DEIR states they are changing the Open Space designation of these parcels but they don’t state what the new designation will be.

Actions Steps:

  • A one month review period for the draft EIR with significant potential impact to the community is not sufficient. We need to ask the Board of Supervisors (BOS) for more time to review and comment. Please make your voice known by writing and speaking at BOS meetings.
  • Even though the public comment period has closed we can still write our concerns on this project and have them attached to the project (File No.
    Z24-0002/GPA24-0001).
  • Continue to call in to the BOS meetings durning Open Forum and make your concerns heard.
